The Estate & Wealth Strategies Institute has set high standards to become a Fellow of the Institute. To become a Fellow of the Institute, an Applicant must show that he or she has made outstanding contributions in estate and wealth planning. Although anyone may become a Fellow of the Institute, most Fellows are highly qualified Attorneys, CPAs, Financial Advisors, Trust Officers, and Charitable Officers who have distinguished themselves in their careers. The standards for being appointed a Fellow of the Institute include: A career in some facet of estate and wealth planning that extends for more than 10 years Each Applicant must complete an Application and be elected to fellowship by the Directors of The Institute. There is a $500 application fee that will be refunded if an Applicant's credentials are not accepted. Applicant's who are accepted can use Institute letterhead and calling cards. The template for each will be furnished by The Institute. Fellows will also receive a Certificate of Fellowship from The Institute. All Fellows of The Institute are expected to be active in their professions and communities, as well as mentor or teach colleagues. From time to time, The Institute will hold Enclaves at the MSU campus and other sites and will request Fellows to teach or submit research about philanthropic topics. Fellows will also be included in research projects that are sponsored by The Institute. Fellows must be re-certified annually by submitting an amended Application. Annual dues for Fellows are currently $500 and must be paid prior to re-certification. Dues will be used to further the Mission of The Institute.
