About EWSI

EWSI was founded in 2001 by Robert A. Esperti and Renno L. Peterson at the request of MSU president Peter McPherson, Provost Lou Anna Simon, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Jack Shingleton. Their goal was to make MSU a leader in providing research, policy, education, credentialization, and accreditation in estate and wealth strategies planning and philanthropy. In its short history, EWSI has established a reputation as a premier source of accrediting courses in subjects ranging from relationship building among professional advisors and their clients to business succession planning to charitable giving.

ESWI has established two designation programs for financial service professionals: conducted a major educational event for alumni of MSU; and sponsored a number of other educational events on the MSU campus. It remains active in its accreditation and designation activities. The organization is in the process of creating a think tank for research and policy in estate, gift, and income taxation.

About ISP

In 2004, EWSI created The Institute of Stewardship and Philanthropy (ISP). ISP is focused on helping charitable officers and organizations advance their altruistic missions and the cause of philanthropy. It is developing course and the Charitable Giving Officer designation for charitable officers, which will be available in the late fall of 2006.
